Val d’Isère’s lifts and pistes close on Sunday. People ask why they don’t stay open longer when there’s always so much snow. These photos give the answer: two thirds of France are on holiday right now, yet there were three and a half skiers on Solaise this afternoon and a handful of snowboarders (probably on day release) on Bellevarde.
